Apple will soon release the iPhone 16 series, which will be packed with AI goodness. The company just announced that its next hardware event will be held on September 9 at 10AM PST. This year’s event is titled “It’s Glowtime,” and will feature vibrant and colorful animations that will be displayed when you use the latest AI features, such as Siri in iOS 18. Besides the new iPhones, Apple is expected to unveil a new Apple Watch, two AirPods, and possibly more.
And the rumored iPhone 16 features will either be pure genius or an ergonomic nightmare.
While the iPhones will get most of the attention, WWDC was only a few months ago, and Apple is likely to share more about its latest software, including iOS 18, iPadOS 18, tvOS 18, WatchOS 11, VisionOS 2, and MacOS Sequoia.
How can I watch Apple’s event?
The iPhone 16 event will take place at Apple Park in Cupertino, California, and will be open only to staff, partners, and media, though a livestream will be available to watch at any time. Apple website or The company’s YouTube channel If you want to watch.
iPhone 16 series: its best feature might not be AI-related
The iPhone 16 family will likely be at the forefront of Apple’s event on Monday, with the new phones expected to feature upgraded camera systems (including ultra-wide and telephoto lenses), and the standard iPhone 16 models will likely carry over last year’s Pro-exclusive features, such as an action button and spatial video capture for VR.
Plus, three rumored iPhone 16 features that will make you want to upgrade
The iPhone 16 Pro models also get a hardware change in the form of a new capture button, which features a touch capacitive sensor that allows you to control the camera with a tap or swipe. The iPhone 16 lineup is expected to come with a new chip, with the presumed A18 processor giving the iPhone 16 enough power to run the latest features powered by generative AI.
New Apple Watches in all shapes, sizes and prices
The Apple Watch is set to get a refresh. To mark its tenth generation, Apple is expected to give the Series 10 models thinner bezels and, naturally, a larger display. This will be the first time the mid-range wearable has received a noticeable redesign since the Apple Watch Series 7. The new watch will also come with improved sensors and health tracking features, with sleep apnea tracking rumored to be a prime candidate.
Additionally, the Apple Watch Series 10 may include sleep apnea detection, but it’s best not to get your hopes up just yet.
Alongside the Apple Watch Series 10, Apple is also set to unveil the Watch Ultra 3, a model tailored for avid athletes and outdoor enthusiasts. The Watch Ultra 3 is not expected to have any major changes, but Apple will reportedly upgrade the internal components to improve performance and durability. There will also be a new Apple Watch SE, which is expected to be made of plastic and even more affordable than its predecessor.
Two new AirPods models (and a surprise)
We’ve been reporting on Apple’s next AirPods models since last year, and the company is finally set to officially unveil two new models: one that will replace the second-generation AirPods and one that will replace the third-generation model. Naturally, one will be the new entry-level option, while the other will slot in between it and the more premium AirPods Pro 2.
Plus: New AirPods are coming next week. Here are the top four features I’m excited for
Notably, the mid-range model borrows some features from the Pro, such as active noise cancellation and a small speaker in the charging case for the Find My alarm. Both models also boast improved noise isolation and, for the first time, spatial audio support.
It’s been almost four years since Apple released its over-ear AirPods Max headphones, and while it’s due for a refresh, it’s unlikely the company will unveil the next generation at Monday’s event. But I’m hopeful: Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reports that Apple is working on an update to the AirPods Max, but that there’s still plenty of inventory left, signaling that the next-generation launch may be delayed.
Apple Intelligence is finally here
Apple unveiled its homegrown generative AI tool, Apple Intelligence, at its annual Worldwide Developers Conference in June. The conference revealed Apple’s plans to implement Apple Intelligence across its personal devices, including an upgraded Siri with enhanced conversational capabilities.
Plus: Why the iPad Mini with Apple Intelligence is more exciting than the new iPhone 16 models
At Monday’s event, Apple is expected to offer more details on how Apple Intelligence will work with smartphones, wearables, and other devices. At the time of writing, most of Apple’s AI tools have already been rolled out, with the iPhone 16 expected to support tools like an emoji generator, enhanced photo editing, and suggested responses for text and email.
Everything you need to know about iOS 18
Apple unveiled iOS 18 at this year’s WWDC, and it’s available to install immediately on all iPhone 16 models, with older iPhone models available to download later this month. The new software is packed with a ton of features, so let’s take a quick look at some of the best ones.

And “One more thing.”
In the past, Apple has surprised press, industry analysts, and Apple fans by announcing “one more thing” at its events. In the past, Apple has surprised the public with the iPod, the original Apple Watch, and most recently the Vision Pro.
Plus: Why the iPad Mini with Apple Intelligence is more exciting than the new iPhone 16 models
As I’ve said before, I’m hoping the surprise is a second-generation AirPods Max, but a more likely surprise could be a new iPad Mini, which Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reports is in low supply, which is a good sign a new one is on the way. latest Now that the iPad Mini has been released, we can expect the new model, if it arrives, to come with Apple’s latest AI features.
