FRANKFURT (Reuters) – Elon Musk made a surprise appearance at Germany’s AFD (Alternative Für Deutsche Land) election campaign event in Halle, East Germany, on Saturday, endorsing the right-wing party for the second time in as many weeks. I spoke publicly.
Musk addressed the hall of 4,500 people alongside party leader Alice Weidell, speaking live via video link about preserving German culture and protecting the German people.
“It’s good to be proud of German culture, German values, and it’s good not to lose it in some kind of multiculturalism that dilutes everything,” Musk said.

On Saturday, he said, “Children should not commit the sins of their parents, let alone their great-grandparents.”
“There’s too much focus on past guilt and we need to move beyond that,” he said.
Musk, who has spoken out about the suppression of speech under the German government, has previously attacked German Chancellor Olaf Scholz on X.
For his part, Scholz on Tuesday said he does not support free speech when used in extreme vision.
Musk said in favor of voting for the far-right party: “I’m very excited about the AFD. I think you’re the best hope for Germany ()’s fight for a great future for Germany.” he told onlookers.
Weidel thanked him, said Republicans were making America great again, and called on her supporters to make Germany great again.
Earlier this month, Musk hosted Weidell in an interview on X, stirring concerns about election interference.
