There have been some changes in the official visit slate for elite defensive back Devin Jackson.
Orlando (Fla.) first academy’s two-way talent tells him he’s now kicking off the slate LSU May 30th. Miami June 6th before Oregon on June 13th Nebraska June 20th.
The four programs are not official top groups, but can be thought of among the major candidates along with others who push to be added to his itinerary Florida, Texas A&M and Georgia.
A verbal commitment is expected between the summer visit and the kickoff game currently set for August 15th.
“There’s no timeline,” Jackson said. “But maybe for IMG games etc.”
The four-star talent has recently been held in Oregon, and the duck is considered the mainstay on his list.
“Not just their process, but the background,” he said. “Coach (Dan) Lanning and coach Tosh (Lepoy) were in Alabama, Georgia…and the head coach is a defensive guy.
LSU has been involved with Jackson for a long time, and another trip to Baton Rouge could push the Tigers high on his list.
“Defense, it’s like DBU,” he said. “They send guys to the league about every year. Then they get coach (Corley) Raymond and coach (Jake) Olsen, those guys are developers.”
Although the Hurricane is relatively close to home, it is one of the latest programs on offerlist. A trip to Coral Gables is under his belt and he will be back next month.
“Miami is a team from my hometown,” Jackson said. “Coach Will Harris is there, and he’s been my guy since he was in Florida.
Nebraska is involved in most of this recruitment. Matt Rhule’s program has already hosted Floridian multiple times.
“Coach Addison (Williams) is the real thing,” Jackson said. “If you go there, you wouldn’t think of it much, but I love it there. Facilities, just everything. It’s a great place.”
