Cyriel Dessers’ dramatic downtime strike came to a 4-3 final 4-3 victory over Dundee in a captivating premiership encounter at Dens Park.

Dark Blues striker Simon Murray scored just two minutes later, while captain Joe Shaughnessy added a second to the 19th minute to pay-off visitors.

Interim boss Barry Ferguson’s team was handed a lifeline when Shaughnessy scored his goal just before the break, making his 100th competitive appearance to the Ranger, and missed a string of opportunities.

Forward Scott Tiffony went 3-1 in the 62nd minute, and all points seemed to stay home, but Rangers skipper James Tavernier reduced the deficit in the 76th minute before dramatically leveling Tom Lawrence with another great strike.

And with three minutes of stop time, Deserz scored the winner and showed his never-to-surprising attitude when he pinched to complete the amazing game.

Attacker Hamza Igamane was surprised when the home side competed for an early lead along with attacker Hamza Igamane for injured Vaclav Cerny.

Finlay Robertson, who took over from injured midfielder Lyall Cameron, tied up by Ibrox in the summer, turned the corner from the right, and Murray arrived before Tavernier and volleyed past Ranger goalkeeper Jack Batland.

Ferguson’s side appeared to have any entry into the penalty area with potential issues, but in the 16 minutes Deserz was cleared by Mohamed Dio Mande Header and blocked by Keypert Lever Carson’s foot, with the home side defending the corner.

A more disastrous defense by the Ranger, where Igamane fails to clear his line following the set piece, saves Batland from Shauganese for a header, then from an unmarked Murray before the Irish knocked the loose ball on his second attempt. Offside VAR checks confirmed the goals.

Robertson then blew the shot past the Buttland, but umpire David Dickinson had already been blown away due to a foul of Yilmaz’s Josh Mulligan.

Ibrox’s side finally got better.

Carson saved Igamane from a long distance drive before making a better save from the Deser’s header from subsequent corners, but the Rangers got a break in the 43rd minute.

Ferguson made interval changes, but Carson saved two more times from the Deserts as Light Blues finished the half strong. Iannis Hagi and Bailey Rice replaced Connor Baron and Leon Balogun to ensure they returned to the back four.

The game was speeding from edge to edge.

Tiffney dominated offside after rolling up Carson after missing a few yards from Mulligan Cross minutes later, after the Deserz finally had the ball into the dandynet.

Deserz headed Tavernier’s cross from close range, but Dandy’s Olwasen Adeumi also missed some opportunities.

However, Tiffoney speeded to Rangers Box via Rangers Box instead of Yilmaz and regained the lead as he fired past Butland.

Tarnier’s fantastic drive from the edge of the box that defeated Carson, and it was all square as Lawrence passed the Low from 25 yards for Diomande, but more drama was imminent.

Murray defeated the shot against the Batland post in stop time before Deserz used his hesitantness in the Dundee defense on the other side to send Rangers fans to joy – and there was still time for Carson to make two more saves from the striker.

Deserts: It was a roller coaster game

Sky Sports to Rangers’ goal hero Siriel Deserz:

“I’m still trying to find out what happened!

“It was a roller coaster from the first 1 to 92 minutes, and 91 minutes was a lot of pain, but yeah, it feels good to win this.

“This team again shows the notion that they don’t give up – unfortunately, we have to show too much of it – how good it is for us to come back.

“Give them the first punch and if they have to come, it’s much easier.”

Ferguson: We never succumbed

From Rangers interim boss Barry Ferguson:

“My idea is that I’m really happy with three points, but overall I’ve seen so many old habits creep up.

“I had words with them about it, and I’m not going to allow it to happen.

“It’s something we need to work on. We have a week now and that’s what I, my staff and the players will experience.

“There were stages of the game that were a bit confusing at times, but one thing I say about them was that they showed the characters again. They never succumbed.”
