Billionaires Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy will take over new efforts to make government more efficient.

President-elect Donald Trump’s new Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) is an effort to make government more efficient, drawing public attention to waste and duplication in government that hasn’t been done in years.

During this time, journalists and nonprofit organizations have written about examples of government waste, but few have actually received much attention.

Musk has created a Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) account on X and is asking his followers for suggestions.

Apart from cuts across agencies, here are some examples of controversial federal spending that could be targeted for future cuts based on Musk and Ramaswamy’s recent comments.
