Take the quiz and investigate

I enjoy the old ones with thumbs up on old books at thrift stores. On my recent outing, I came across a few cover notebooks in a battered paperback summarizing the Renaissance as follows: “This era was characterized by the establishment of scientific methods, the rise of free research, and the growth of commerciality.

In the first 100 days of Trump’s second presidency, the cultural heritage of the Renaissance is nowhere to be found. In fact, the far right, led by the author of Project 2025, began to demolish infrastructure inspired by the renaissance of modern American life, from science and law to education and commerce.

As a result, there is a medieval atmosphere that appears to be in line with 1025 than 2025. With that in mind, we have listed ten characteristics of the medieval world (italics) and similar de facto statements about current events.

Pair the list of entries to see if you can reach your own conclusions about our future as democratic citizens, or our future as subjects and serfs.
