Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) spinner Digshurati was asked about his viral notebook celebration at a recent press conference. The 25-year-old revealed that he has a book for all tournaments to write down the names of the batsmen he fired.
Here’s what Rathi said when asked about how he began to celebrate notebooks during the meeting:
“About the start, whenever there is a tournament, I have a notebook and write down all the names,” he said in a video released by LSG.
The customary celebration of Digvesh Rathi has attracted the attention of the masses. However, bowlers have been responsibly replied multiple times for that. He was fined 25% and 50% of the match fee for doing it against the Kings of Punjab (PBK) and Mumbai Indians (MI) respectively.
Rathi’s celebration and a fierce exchange with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) opener Abhishek Sharma, he was again fined 50% of his match fee, along with a suspension of match. He accumulated five Demerit points for three level 1 crimes in accordance with the IPL Code of Conduct.
As a result, he ended the recent clash with the Gujarat Titans (GT) at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Lucknow claimed a consolation victory, defeating the table topper by 33 runs.
Digvesh Rathi was silver lining in LSG’s inactive IPL 2025 campaign
Digvesh Rathi was roped into a Lucknow-based franchise at a base price of £30 lakh at IPL 2025 Mega Auction. Legspinner repayed his faith by offering impactful performances in his debut season.
He was the main wicket taker for LSG of the season, earning 14 wickets in 12 games with an economic rating of 8.18. The Rishabh Pant-led side endured a gloomy season and failed to qualify for the playoffs.
He has won six wins from 13 games and is currently seventh in the IPL 2025 point table. Their campaign will peak in a final league stage match against Royal Challenger Bengaluru (RCB) at Bharat Ratna Sri Atal Bihari Vihari Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on Tuesday, May 27th.
