Joe Biden and Kamala Harris on Thursday night welcomed home Americans released in the prisoner swap.
As TGP reported, Russia has agreed to release four high-profile detainees — Evan Gershkovich, Paul Whelan, Arus Kurmasheva and Vladimir Kara-Murza — as part of an unprecedented multi-nation prisoner swap.
They arrived in the United States late Thursday night.
Released detainees
- Evan GershkovichA Wall Street Journal reporter was arrested in March 2023 on espionage charges, which he and his employer strongly denied.
- Paul Whelan: Former US Marine Whelan, who has been in custody since 2018, was serving a 16-year sentence on espionage charges. Recall that Joe Biden announced that he would exchange the world’s most wanted Russian fugitive, aka “The Merchant of Death,” Viktor Bout, for marijuana-smoking, anti-American rich girl Brittney Griner, not former Marine Whelan.
- Ars KurmashebaKurmasheva, a Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty journalist with dual U.S. and Russian citizenship, was detained in October 2023 on charges of failing to register as a “foreign agent.”
- Vladimir Kara-MurzaKara Murza, a prominent Russian opposition leader and journalist, was serving a 25-year sentence for treason and spreading “false information” about the Russian military.
Joe Biden has grabbed people’s attention by suggesting that he will only be in office for the next 90 days – his term ends on January 20, 2025.
Is Biden planning to step down from office, or is he just so crazy he doesn’t realize he has more than five months left in his term?
“You’re going to have to be with me as your president for a while. There’s no way out. You’re going to be dealing with me for at least 90 days,” Biden said, with Kamala Harris lurking behind him.

While Kamala Harris rattled off a string of words, Biden looked utterly exhausted.

It’s completely gone.
