The 24-year-old man, known as one of the top three leaders of the country’s MS-13, was arrested Thursday morning in a suburban neighborhood in William County, Virginia, just a few miles from the FBI Academy in Barion.
Federal and state officials have accused the suspect of being the mastermind of the East Coast of MS-13, a violent Salvadra transnational crime gang known for its drug trafficking, terror and brutal murders. The suspect was taken into custody in Dale City without incident, in a home where five children were reportedly present.

The arrest comes as part of a wider statewide crackdown on cross-border criminal organizations, including MS-13. As of Thursday afternoon, federal officials have either not made the suspect’s name public or have not released a formal charge.
