From 1959 to 1963, Jaynorth played the title role on CBS Dennis threat.
This week, my beloved actor passed away at the age of 73.

Jay North’s death, confirmed cause of death by longtime friends
News of North’s Death shared sad news via Facebook courtesy of his producer and author Laurie Jacobson.
“[North’s Dennis the Menace costar] Jeanne Russell only called us with the news that was grossly sad, but not unexpected. Jacobson wrote. “Our dear friend Jay North has been battling cancer for years. This morning, Jay passed away peacefully at home at noon on EST.”
“As many of his fans know, he had a difficult journey in Hollywood, but then… but he didn’t make it define his life. He had a mountain of big heart and deeply loved his friends,” she continued.
“He called us frequently and finished all the conversations, ‘I love you so much’. And we loved him with everyone.
Tragic yet familiar story
Jacobson’s “difficult journey” comments likely mentioned the abuse that suffered in the hands of his aunt, who was also his studio guardian.

Despite the pain he endured early in his career, North continued to act well into adulthood.
His final role came in the 2003 David Spade comedy Dickey Betts: Former Child Star.
