Senate Democrats created a new leadership position, putting Sen. Cory Booker (D-N.J.) in charge of strategic messaging.
Senator Booker said this at a press conference introducing the Senate Democratic Party’s new leadership team.
It was incredible. I have worked with him for the past four years and participated in many of the important activities of this caucus. We’ve had four years of extraordinary accomplishments under Joe Biden. is the president, and Chuck Schumer is the Senate majority leader.
Based on what we were able to provide, he’s a modern-day LBJ. He and I talked about this last year and it was extraordinary that he invited me to be part of his leadership and trusted me in this new role. So I want to express my gratitude to him and to my colleagues in the caucus who applauded me and recognized that I could play a role. I look forward to contributing not only to this caucus but to the larger mission of moving our country forward and advancing our agenda. It really focuses on Americans and their policies.

Booker’s promotion is well deserved. He is the perfect person to lead Senate Democrats’ strategic messaging.
Mr. Booker is one of those senators who continues to be who he is. Sen. Booker still sounds like “the guy who used to shovel snow on voters’ sidewalks” when he was mayor of Newark, New Jersey. Senate Democrats need someone who can clearly communicate and differentiate from the policies of Republicans and President Trump.
Given the 2024 election results, Senate Democrats are overachieving, and Cory Booker will be responsible for shaping the message that returns Democrats to the majority.
