Senator Cory Booker’s long Senate floor speech has passed the 18-hour mark and is beginning to plague Senate Republicans.
Booker says he will hold the floor until he can no longer stand. Senator Booker is joined by Senate Democrats including Tina Smith, Tammy Duckworth, Chris Van Hollen, Chris Coons, Michael Bennett, Mark Warner and Elizabeth Warren, protesting Trump’s policies.
According to Senator Booker’s office, we saw a New Jersey senator discussing the harm that Trump’s policies are doing to farmers. It offers nutritious local meals.
Senate Republicans are frustrated.
Alex Bolton of the Hill posted on X:
Sen. Cory Booker (DN.J.) Marathon Talkson, stretching to 18 hours, is on the nerves of a Republican party. “Can you tell someone that no one’s asking Booker,” Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Ala.) says he’s stepping into GOP lunch.
Senator Tuberville is wrong.
Not only is many people listening. They cheered, moved, and inspired by Corey Booker and other Senate Democrats.
Senate Democrats are in the minority, but that doesn’t mean they’re quietly sitting on the sidelines and dying.
Unlike the House, where there are most rules, Senate Democrats have the tools that include a 60-vote rule.
They also have a voice and a platform, as Senator Booker demonstrates.
Booker and other Senate Democrats talking to him use their voicesand Republicans don’t like it. Because those voices represent a large part of America.
What do you think of Republicans being troubled by Corey Booker? Let me explain in the comments below.
