(CelebrityAccess) — California metal band Coal Chamber has announced that they are postponing their Fiend for the Fans tour until 2025 while the band’s frontman, Dez Fafara, recovers from health issues.
The tour, which also features Coal Chamber, Fear Factory, Twisted and Black Satellite, was originally due to begin in late August but is now scheduled to depart in March 2025.
Fafara announced the rescheduling and detailed the terrifying experience he had after going for a jog.
“With a heavy heart, let me share a life-changing story. I’m writing this from my bed. I run six miles every day, rehearse two hours a day in my home studio, and look forward to hitting the road and getting on the bus with my brothers, sisters and crew. I’ve never felt better and as you all know I fought so hard after my long COVID almost took my life,” Fafara wrote.
“I woke up Saturday morning and was walking up the stairs and saw my eyes flickering. I passed out and my wife had to resuscitate me. My vital signs were skyrocketing, I was blue in the face, vomiting and the world was spinning for me. Anastasia called 911. I ended up in the back of an ambulance and spent nine hours in the emergency room checking my vital signs, including x-rays of my heart and lungs. Doctors have recommended I get a CT scan and I will need to rest and postpone the tour until further tests. Our agent worked quickly to rebook the tour for March 2025 until we know what is happening medically,” he added.
“After hearing the shocking news about our brother we have had to make a tough decision as a family. We have discussed every possible scenario but ultimately decided to put Dez’s health first. In order for us to be 100% we need to take the extra time to allow him to fully recover and bring you all the show you deserve!! We look forward to seeing you all in March 2025,” added Coal Chamber’s Mikey Cox.
