
Philippines’ Charlie Suarez challenges Mexican Emmanuel Navarete’s WBO Super Featherweight Championship on May 10th in San Diego, California.
MANILA, Philippines – Charlie Suarez won’t leave anything to coincidental when he faces Mexican WBO super featherweight champion Emmanuel Navarete at Pechanga Arena in San Diego, California on May 10th.
“It should be a compelling victory,” he said of his 2016 Rio Olympics veteran, a silver medalist at the 2014 Asian Games, and three-time gold medalist at the Southeast Asian Games, and his first crack in the world title.
Suarez decorated the Philippine Sports Writers Association (PSA) forum on Tuesday at the conference hall of Rizal Memorial Sports Complex, his home during his amateur days.

Suarez, 36, who became professional in 2019, was accompanied by his manager, former Irocossulu Governor Luis “Chavit” Singson, trainer Del Finvohorst and team member Ricardo Nabarta.
“If Charlie wins the world title, it will be a great honor for our country. My wish for him is to win at every cost. Knockout or “Kailangan Manalo Si Charly by Yung Convincing,” Singson said.
Singson provided an undefeated Suarez in 18 fights with 18 knockouts. This is where you will stay in Tagaytay city to train for a big fight against the 30-year-old Mexican who holds a 39-2 record at 32 Kos.
“Para akon biryonario sa bahey na pinahiram ny gaf sa s a tagaytay,” Suarez said.
Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) Chairman Richard Bachmann stopped by the forum for Suarez’s forum, where San Miguel Corporation, PSC, Philippine Olympic Committee, Milo, Smart/PLDT, and the country’s 24/7 sports app Arenaplus.

Suarez said he would give everything for the fight and try to achieve the fame and glory that escaped him during the 2016 Olympics.
“Hindi ako naka-medal sa olympics kaya ‘yung hindi ko a-achieve doon dito ko kukunin.
“Pinag-aralan namin si navarrete.
“This is it. It’s his time. It’s going to happen. Charlie wins the world title,” Navata added.
