Shaun Fein, chairman of the United Autoworker Union (UAW), has been extremely critical of Trump in the past. In fact, as you may remember, Fain went to support Kamala Harris in the 2024 election.
He’s singing very different songs now.
In the video below, Fein praises the Trump administration for tackling unfair trade laws that he says have “destroyed the working class in America.”

United Autoworkers Union President Shaun Fein, who has been critical of President Trump in the past, says tariffs on 25% on foreign cars are a step “to end a free trade disaster.”
“We praise the Trump administration for ending the free trade disaster that has been destroying working-class communities for decades. Ending the race to the bottom of the automotive industry started by fixing our broken trade deals, and the Trump administration has made history with what it is today.”
“But finishing the race to the bottom is hopeful of working together with the strong National Labor Relations Commission, decent retirement with protected social security benefits, health care for all workers, including Medicare and Medicaid, and dignity of dignity, and the UAW and the worker class, in general, party politics. We are willing to reverse decades of working class people in the most profitable period in our country’s history.
It’s just a show, you can’t argue with the outcome, and that’s what Trump is offering.
