Standard textbooks for medieval university theology are Text By Peter Lombard, Bishop of Paris from 1095-1160. This collection systematically arranged theological judgments of the Bible and Church fathers on a variety of topics. For almost four centuries, those seeking a higher qualification in theology had to study, teach and comment on Lombard.
