MANILA, Philippines — Carlos Yulo described his historic gold medal win in the men’s gymnastics floor exercise final at the Paris 2024 Olympics in one word: “perfect.”
“It’s not a perfect match, but for me it’s a perfect moment,” Yulo told OneSports in Filipino.
“This experience is truly overwhelming. I always say experience, experience, and there’s nothing wrong with that, but this experience is one that will leave a mark on my heart and the whole Philippines.”

The Philippines team’s medal hopes rested on the strong shoulders of Yuro, and the 24-year-old delivered the best performance of his young career.
Euro earned 15,000 points, winning the Philippines’ first gold medal at the Paris Games and becoming the first Filipino gymnast to reach the Olympic podium.
But making history was never an easy task.
“I couldn’t sleep properly for two days because of this. I was nervous all the time, but I’m glad I didn’t give up on the challenge,” Yuro said.

“I went in and got this result, but I’m not the only one who won.”
Saturday night’s Euro win went down in history, but now he has another chance to further cement his legend.
It’s easy to get carried away after such a historic win, but the Euros still have work to do.
“I plan to do the same. [things]Enjoy and hope for the best.”
Euro is scheduled to compete in the men’s artistic gymnastics vault.
