Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta says Bukayo Saka has a “good chance” to return to action after an international break.
The 23-year-old needed surgery after suffering a hamstring injury as he won Crystal Palace 5-1 in December.
Arteta said mid-week that Saka was making “very good progress” and that after defeating Arsenal’s Chelsea 1-0 on Sunday, Arteta was asked about the possibility that Saka would feature in April.
“Yes, he has a good chance,” Arteta said. Sky Sports.
Arsenal will return to Premier League action on Thursday, April 1, and will host Real Madrid on Tuesday, April 8 for the first game of the Champions League quarterfinals before heading to Everton on Saturday, April 5.
On Friday, Arteta said: “He’s going to be here. [at the Arsenal training ground]hopefully, he has more balls on his feet than he had,” Arteta said.
“It means he’s passing the ball and shooting and running, and everything. He’s doing quite a lot on the pitch he’s already working for himself.
“Then we need to arrange it with the people around him in a more competitive training session and see how he uses it.
“He is approaching, he is stepping up and making very good progress.
“So let’s see when he starts throwing with his team how he reacts and how he can fit.”
