That’s right, everyone.
She finally, really, really, finally do.
On Thursday, we learned that Jana Duggar and Steven Whissman’s relationship had taken another step after they learned that the couple had applied for a marriage license…
…They really got married!
“I think it’s one of those things that every girl dreams of someday.” Jana told People magazine. They collapsed two days before her wedding.
“For me, it was like, ‘Okay, it’s never coming,’ but now it’s starting to sink in. Reality is setting in. And I’m like, ‘Wow, this is really something I’ve dreamed of.’
“And to see it come to fruition is just incredible. It’s a dream come true.”
Jana was 34, a notorious age for being single, which was a completely normal and uninteresting fact considering the family she grew up in.
Parents Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar went to great lengths for years to marry off their daughters as young as possible and turn them into baby factories.
According to People magazine, Duggar and Wissman got engaged on June 15 and later became husband and wife in front of 500 guests at The Grand at Willow Springs.
Jessa Duggar Seewald served as bridesmaid, along with her sister-in-law Abbie Duggar and siblings Joy-Anna Forsyth, Johana Duggar, Jinger Duggar Volo and Jordyn Duggar.
The “Counting On” alum first sparked engagement rumors earlier this summer when she was spotted wearing a silver wedding ring during a visit to South Carolina with her fraternal twin brother, John David Duggar.
At the time, she would only admit that she had finally moved out of her parents’ home in Arkansas.
“Yeah, I want to get married and I think that will happen one day, but I think I’m just trying to stay busy with whatever comes my way,” Jana told Us Weekly in 2020.
And now she is so happy, she hasn’t read any of the manuscripts her mom or dad wrote.
“We come from two big families (Wissman is one of 13 siblings) and we love being able to come together and celebrate moments like this,” Jana told People magazine, “so having the whole family there means so much.”
As quoted above, Wissman comes from a well-known fundamentalist family, and the family’s blog describes Stephen as “a man of many talents.”
“He enjoys being a pilot, assistant manager at Whisman Enterprises, building small furniture and staying physically active through training and sports,” his bio says.
“He has a gift for starting encouraging and challenging conversations and a passion for service. He directs many of our musical arrangements, plays mandolin and guitar, and provides lead and bass vocals.”
Stephen is also the older brother of Hannah Whisman, who is married to Jana Duggar’s brother, Jeremiah Duggar.
Isn’t that sweet and romantic and not weird and a sign of just how messed up this incest community is?!?
Congratulations to newlyweds Jana Duggar and Steven Whisman!
