Robert Bolick fell one rebound shy of a triple-double, complementing a strong performance from import Mike Henry, as NLEX defeated Blackwater, 104-87, in Group B of the PBA Governors Cup at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Friday.
Bolick finished with 24 points, nine rebounds, 11 assists and two steals as the Road Warriors gave new coach John Uichico a win in his first game back on the PBA sidelines.
Henry recorded 31 points, 10 rebounds and three assists for NLEX, which jumped out to an early lead atop its group along with Rain or Shine and San Miguel Beer.
Schedule: 2024 PBA Governors Cup Preliminary Round
Behind the play of Bolick and Henry, the Road Warriors controlled the game for much of the game and led by as many as 27 points at one point, but that wasn’t enough to prevent Bossing from mounting a dramatic comeback.
Rookie Cedric Barefield tried to do the impossible in the fourth round, but Blackwater lost two straight games and dropped to the bottom of Group B.
Barefield finished with 16 points after a slow start with three rebounds and five assists, but Bossing got little support from foreign player Ricky Ledo.

Blackwater’s Ledo missed 7 of 8 3-point attempts and both of his shots from the 4-point zone for a terrible 2-of-15 shooting performance and just six points.
In the loss for Bossing, Christian David and Troy Rosario each scored 17 points.
