Late Wednesday night, the White House desperately tried to clean up after President Biden appeared to call half of America, those who support Donald Trump, “trash.”
This comes amid controversy over insult cartoons that appeared at Trump’s rally at Madison Square Garden over the weekend.
During a rally at MSG, comedian Tony Hinchcliffe made a joke about Puerto Rico (that’s what comedians do, people), referring to the U.S. territory and saying, “There’s literally a floating island of trash in the middle of the ocean right now.” said. .
Unsurprisingly, the humorless media has been furious over the comment for several days, calling it “racist.” Imagine coming out of Dave Chappelle’s show with headlines outraged by “racist” jokes. This basically applies.
But then came Biden’s revenge.
Mr. Biden used Mr. Hinchcliffe’s remarks as a springboard during a conference call to discuss the Latino vote, appearing to call Mr. Trump’s supporters “trash.”
President Obama called us “sticky guys.”
Hillary called us deplorables.
Kamala calls us fascists.
And Biden just called us trash. They don’t respect us and don’t want us to be united.
But we do.
We want to make America great again.
Our Union is for all Americans.
And within 7 days we will be united… pic.twitter.com/WYZePbYOyK— Byron Donalds (@ByronDonalds) October 30, 2024
Biden calls Trump supporters trash
The funny thing about all this controversy is that the spotlight was supposed to be on Vice President Kamala Harris last night.
Harris delivered her closing argument at a rally at the Ellipse in Washington, D.C., contrasting her vision of unity and progress with Trump’s alleged focus on division and personal vendettas. call him… “Vile tyrant.”
Then her own boss, a petty tyrant, shows up and steals her thunder.
“The only trash I see is his supporters,” Biden said. “His demonization of Latinos is unconscionable and un-American.”
When you watch this video, it’s clear who he’s referring to. But the White House went into furious purge mode, adding an apostrophe to the word “supporters” as if it was referring only to comedians. And then the records were released by the administration and their friends in the media went completely off the rails.
It doesn’t help Biden if someone adds an apostrophe after the fact. He called Trump supporters trash. Obviously, anyone who thought one person could be “they” thought adding an apostrophe was good damage control. it’s not. pic.twitter.com/5kl9uou1U3

The situation was so bad that President Biden was forced to clarify his remarks on social media well past his bedtime.
“Earlier today, I called the hateful anti-Puerto Rican rhetoric spewed by President Trump’s supporters at the Madison Square Garden rally trash, and that’s the only word I can think of to describe it.” says X’s statement.
“His demonization of Latinos is unconscionable. That’s all I wanted to say. The comments at that rally do not reflect who we are as a nation.”
But he didn’t say that. Not at all. Unfortunately for him and Kamara, the reality was on tape.

By the end of the night, no one was talking about Harris’ speech at all. Biden was undermining his entire effort with comments similar to Hillary Clinton’s famous “basket of deplorables” comments in 2016.
“You could put half of Trump’s supporters into what I call the ‘basket of deplorables.’ right? “Racist, sexist, homophobe, xenophobe, Islamophobe, you name it,” Clinton said at the time.
Of course, Harris herself is no different, linking Trump to Adolf Hitler and calling all Trump supporters neo-Nazis.
This is them. This is what they think of you. Please act accordingly.
