“President Joe Biden has decided to pardon his son Hunter and will make the announcement Sunday night.” NBC News report,
“This decision marks a reversal for the president, who has repeatedly said he would not use executive power to pardon or commute his son’s sentence. That will take place before his sentencing on Dec. 12. Hunter Biden is also scheduled to be sentenced on Dec. 16 in a separate criminal case after pleading guilty to federal tax evasion charges in September.
“The pardon will cover both Hunter Biden’s conviction and guilty plea to firearms charges.”
Mr. Biden said, in a statement: “No reasonable person considering the facts of Hunter’s case could come to any other conclusion than that Hunter was chosen solely because he is my son. And that is wrong. In the face of selective prosecution, efforts continued to break Hunter, who has been sober for five and a half years. There’s no reason to believe it will stop here. Enough is enough.”
