The Department of Justice has agreed to pay a total of $2 million to settle lawsuits brought by former FBI counterintelligence agent Peter Struzk and former FBI attorney Lisa Page over the Department of Justice’s release of text messages.
Apparently the insurance money was paid.
Strzok was removed from then-special counsel Robert Mueller’s team, which was investigating false claims of collusion between former President Donald Trump’s campaign and Russia.
He was removed from his post after messages were discovered between him and his girlfriend, Page, showing the two exchanging fiercely anti-Trump messages.
He was once Mueller’s top agent working on the case and exchanged messages with Page discussing an “insurance policy.”

Peter Strzok receives huge payout from Biden Justice Department
The New York Times first reported on the settlement, portraying Strzok as a victim “targeted by Trump,” a portrayal that journalist Byron York quickly pointed out was inaccurate.

The settlement came in response to a lawsuit alleging that police violated Strzok and Page’s privacy rights by releasing text messages that showed they were heavily biased in the investigation.
But the text messages were exchanged on government-issued cellphones, which would have made it easier for the Justice Department to defend the case in court.
Instead, they chose to pay two people.

Clear and unprecedented prejudice is rewarded
It’s hard not to see this settlement as an acknowledgment of the efforts of Peter Strzok and Lisa Page, who helped foment the false narrative of Russian collusion that hobbled President Trump’s administration for years.
Let’s be clear here: Strzok and Page demonstrated clear political bias in messages that indicated they were discussing ways to “stop” President Trump.
“Several FBI employees who played key roles in the investigation sent political messages,” the IG report said.
It quotes Lisa Page as writing to Peter Strzok: “(Trump) will never be president, right? Right?”
Strzok: “No you’re not. We’ll stop them.”

Other previously released text messages exchanged between the two men show Strzok and Page calling then-candidate Trump a “jerk” and a “moron.”
Politico reports The consolidated settlement The damages awarded to Strzok and Page are roughly $2 million, and under the case, Strzok likely faces even more damages in a separate lawsuit in which he claims he was fired to please Trump.
After being fired by the FBI, he became a CNN commentator where he continues to display clear bias, such as suggesting that the January 6th Capitol protests were worse than 9/11.
