The rematch between Fraser Clarke and Fabio Wardley has been confirmed to take place on the undercard of the Artur Beterbiev vs Dmitry Bivol fight in Saudi Arabia on October 12.
The British heavyweight boxers will resume their rivalry on the same date as the light heavyweight world title fight between Beterbiev and Bivol, with Chris Eubank Jr. and Ben Whittaker also returning to action in Riyadh.
Clarke previously told Sky Sports he was aiming for a knockout victory in their second bout after the two teams met in a thrilling draw at the O2 Arena in March.
He said: “I have just one goal in mind and that is to knock out Fabio Wardley. Winning is not enough. I want to give him a job but it will be a tough job, just like the first fight. Hopefully the best fighter wins, but I believe in myself.”
“After the first fight, I have a lot more respect for Fabio, so I won’t say anything bad about him. I think both fighters just want to give their best to each other and fight with their hands raised. My message to the fans is to watch the fight and enjoy it when it happens.”
Eubank Jr., who hasn’t fought since beating Liam Smith in a rematch last September, will take on former world title challenger Kamil Sheremeta.
Whittaker will be able to further enhance his growing reputation in the toughest fight of his career so far against former Commonwealth champion Liam Cameron.
Former world champion Joe Cordina makes a major move up the weight class when he takes on American star Shakur Stevenson on a packed undercard, while Jack Massey takes on elite cruiserweight Jay Opetaia and women’s world champion Skye Nicholson takes on Raven Chapman.
