Senator Bernie Sanders is fighting the looming people Billionaire Oli Head in National tour. Senator Sanders also takes a strong position to support Ukraine. On that front, Sanders issued a statement Monday.
Senator Sanders said:
Donald Trump’s attack on Ukrainian President Voldimir Zelensky is a gift to Russian President Vladimir Putin. Trump has split the Western Alliance and undermines Ukraine’s defense against Russian invasions. His actions may extend the war by convincing Putin, who is able to manipulate Trump with concessions he couldn’t win on the battlefield.
Trump is working with Vladimir Putin – so who is Putin?
Putin is a former Soviet spy who spent 16 years in the KGB and learned how to manipulate people by playing with ego, greed and fear. After the Cold War ended, Putin was appointed head of the FSB, Russia’s KGB Post KGB intelligence agency. In 1999, President Putin was nominated as prime minister and became president when the former president unexpectedly resigned. Putin has ruled Russia ever since.
At the heart of Putin’s rule are two forces: corruption and violence.
Putin, the new Russian leader, is believed to be one of the richest people on the planet, and has integrated power at home by suppressing the powerful Russian oligarchs. He offered them a simple deal: if they gave him absolute power and shared the loot, he would let them steal just what they wanted from the Russian people. Results: While the majority of Russia’s population is fighting economically, President Putin and his fellow oligarchs have been hiding trillions of dollars in offshore tax havens. In the process, President Putin crushed Russia’s short move towards democracy. He removed his rivals, cracked down on freedom of speech, and strangled free media. Political dissidents, investigative journalists and opposition leaders have begun to die.
Today, 26 years after he came to power, Putin is the absolute ruler of Russia. The Russian elections are blatantly deceived, and Putin’s nuisances barely hide the accumulation of votes. In the last fake election, Putin won 88% of “voting” against carefully screened opposition candidates.
It’s Putin’s Russia. There is no freedom of speech. The protest will be severely suppressed. Tens of thousands of people have been jailed for speaking out against his rule. The brave and most prominent dissidents – people like Alexei Navalny, Boris Nemtsov and Sergei Magnitsky – have been completely murdered. And the billionaire oligarchs become even richer.
That’s the leader, Trump defends and praises it.
