Washington DC – Joining us today was Rahna Epting, executive director of MoveOn Political Action. CNN News Central and Ben & Jerry’s co-founders Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield We discuss MoveOn’s new Scoop the Vote tour, which launched in Philadelphia on Monday to coincide with the start of early voting. The Scoop the Vote tour is a unique initiative designed to encourage voter participation through a series of events featuring free ice cream and special guests.
During the segment, Cohen enjoyed a pint of limited-edition handcrafted ice cream that he and Greenfield created and signed for the tour in honor of Kamala Harris. Kamala’s Coconut Jubilee” Scoop the Boat.
Epting highlighted that Scoop the Boat tours will travel through key battleground states and districts, with stops in more than 20 cities, including Ann Arbor, Madison, Phoenix and Las Vegas. During the tours, MoveOn will help participants make a plan to vote before November 5, show voters how to encourage their friends and family to vote, serve a variety of election-themed ice cream flavors and engage with local communities to increase voter registration and turnout.
