Ben Gregg scored a career-high 24 points in the fifth-place game at Battle 4 Atlantis Friday on Paradise Island, and No. 3 Gonzaga took control in the first half and gained momentum in the second half, beating Davidson by 90 points. He won with 65. Bahamas.

The Bulldogs (7-1) had another strong performance for their sixth double-digit win of the season, following an impressive 89-73 victory over No. 14 Indiana.

Greg surpassed his career high of 22 sets against San Diego on January 6th. He made 8 of 10 shots (all seven free throw attempts) and grabbed eight rebounds as Gonzaga shot 54.7 percent from the paint for 58 points.

Gonzaga endured a quiet night from leading scorer Kalife Battle as Graham Icke recorded a double-double with 18 and 10 rebounds, Braden Huff contributed 14 points. Although 1-of-7 from the field limited the game to just four points, the Bulldogs did more than enough, including a career-high 14 assists from Ryan Nembhard.

Reid Bailey added 19 points and Roberts Blum added 11 points for Davidson (5-2), which suffered its second loss of the tournament after losing to No. 24 Arizona by 33 points in the season opener. Connor Kochera and Bobby Durkin, who performed well in Thursday’s win over Providence, also had a quiet game for the Wildcats, combining for 15 points on 5-of-17 shooting.

With 7:51 left in an 8-0 run, Nembhard found Huff’s hook shot in the lane and Gonzaga led 28-18. Nembhard’s 3-point play with 7:08 left extended the lead to 33-19, and Gregg’s trey with 5:23 left made it 36-21, giving the Bulldogs a 42-31 lead by halftime. .

Gonzaga scored the first nine points of the second half and extended the lead to 51-31 on Ike’s layup with 16 minutes and 41 seconds left. With 13:24 remaining, Nolan Hickman’s 3-pointer extended the lead to 60-37, and about two minutes later, Gregg’s 3-point play extended the lead to 65-38.
