This is his open letter to President William Root, but it is also open to my fellow Kenyans.
Dear Sir,
I respect you thanks to the office you occupy.
So I come to peace.
But beyond the peace I want of you, I will bear the burden.
Almost three years ago, Kenyans were in line to elect you to the office.
It’s not the point whether your promises seduced them.
The point is that many of us feel disillusioned with your leadership.
For your information, I am not a Jents.
I am a 45-year-old Kenyan and began my year on earth under the administration of the late President Moi.
We grew up under the slogan of “Baba Namama.” There, because he was “ordained” by God, he should not complain or raise his fingers to the leader.
This is the background of the Nyayo House Chambers, with the bullets of Mwakenya’s movements having several names.
We saw parents shrink even in the idea of criticizing the government.
Fear is the management currency, and it worked.
However, things suddenly changed in 2002.
Artists like Gidigidi and Majimaji remember the song “Can’t Buogo Me” signed by them.
Well, this didn’t happen just one night.
In the 70s, 80s, and 90s, many people paid the ultimate price to take us here.
JM Kariuki, Kenneth Matiba, Jaramogi Oginga Odinga, Masinde Muliro, George Anyona, Charles Rubia, Koigi Wa Wawamwere, James Orengo, Martin Shikuku, Mwandawiro Mghanga, Ahmed Bahmariz, Raila Odinga, and Davinder Lamba
It wasn’t easy for them as they got the short end of the stick – beaten, persecuted, tortured, detained, even killed.
Even church leaders played a legitimate role.
I remember Bishop Alexander Kipsan Alup Muge, Bishop Henry Okul, Pastor Timothy Nyoya, Pastor Mutaba Mushimi and others.
If the centre could not be retained, Mzee Moi had no choice but to abolish Section 2A.
Once they entered multi-party politics, the playground was leveled as Lala Odinga and the late Mwai Kibaki lead head-on.
My point was that it was a process of paying dividends over time.
Fast forward to 2007/2008, Kenya was soaked in a post-election crisis you know too well.
Records show that around 1,500 people lost their lives, but the numbers were undoubtedly higher than this.
The mayhem evacuated nearly a million Kenyans – and some of them had not returned to the farm so far.
But did 07/08 suddenly happen?
It’s definitely not.
In 1992, people were kicked out of Moro, Elbragon, Nyoro and Orengrone.
In 1997, people were kicked out of the coastal Liconi and Kuwale.
Was it the government’s strategy to move them?
Well, yes.
The government at the time was an armed militia.
Their goal was to carry out an act of ethnic cleansing in Rift Valley and leave it ethnically “pure.”
result?
Even priests like Father John Anthony Kaiser were not left unharmed.
Of course, during post-election violence, we had golden people who, contrary to the tide, did the right thing under difficult circumstances.
Bishop Cornelius Coryr comes to mind.
My point is… it wasn’t 2007/08.
The water was stirred at 92 and 97.
The real thing then erupted on 07/08.
process.
Over time, we learned from our mistakes.
This led to the creation of measures to curb future ethnic tensions.
Therefore, in 2010, the constitution was promulgated.
It was something that they believed would change the path of the nation.
It started well.
It is among the county, IPOA, budget controllers, EACC, the General Audit Office, and other constitutionally established institutions.
But sooner or later we began to find ourselves in a kind of familiar territory. That alone made it delocalized and wider.
The county has become a delegated crime scene. The governor and his agent embezzled them until they were unable to do it.
The facility’s office has become a lame duck. Many of them were able to only assume the role of whistleblowers as they cornered the con artist, but they were “covered” by their power and were unable to take any action.
During President Uhuru Kenyatta’s term, Kenya began witnessing cases of acquiring and judicial murder.
Plus, massive evictions were the order of the day.
The body of the Yara River, the death of Willie Kimani, the eviction at Ruai, and the deportation of Migna Migna among other vices.
This was another process of reaching the outcome.
But that’s not the case yet.
You have come to many promises to end the extra judicial killings.
You have begun your term with many positive changes that you expect based on your declaration.
But instead, change, coupled with more mismanagement mismanagement in public funds, has come through ultra-taxation.
This was against the backdrop of a decline in employment opportunities that could not absorb graduates.
What’s more, a considerable number of companies have been sent out packaging due to the tax surplus.
This meant that work would be difficult to come.
So what about small businesses?
As you know, the health of small business speaks a lot about healthy economy.
However, Draconia’s approach by the KRA and local county authorities has hindered many small businesses.
Many were forced to shut down.
A variety of voices of opposition have begun to support it.
Local activists were enthusiastic.
They gave criticism using available means such as social media.
But your sidekicks and hilering were quick to counter them.
A suitable case is Dennis Itonbi, who is comparable to Saddam’s former Minister of Propaganda, Mohamed Said Al Sahaf.
He has an online group of paid contractors to counter hashtags ventilating your administration’s failure.
People expect to deal with the problem, and keyboard warriors who survived wages that have become potatoes weren’t to clean them under the carpet.
In some cases where you do not need more details:
Shif/sha…
Mit…
Housing collection…
Especially.
But when opposition to social media was too strong, your government relied on strategies you’ve learned all along while serving under President Uhuru.
Abduction and murder.
Do you need to say more?
And to pour salt into your injuries, your government has put up a toxic financial bill head-on with all sorts of tax-loaded money to strangle people.
Your councillor has turned deaf ears into complaints from experts, industrialists and the general Kenyans.
Kenyans felt ignored.
An army of online commentators confirmed that they will continue to ventilate social media.
They distilled their opinions to help the public understand and connect.
They interacted with and connected with the suffering majority…
They were more popular than paid employers under Itonbi’s salary.
To counter this, your government has resorted to massive abductions and murders.
They were intended to reduce the growth of complaints that seemed to be preparing for the passage of the 2024 Financial Bill.
But it didn’t.
You know, now you weren’t just dealing with a laid back generation who knew how to follow.
You were dealing with a generation that was the pioneer of free primary education.
A young man who saw his father as the late President Kibaki.
Young people were growing and seeing a good economic era.
But now they were the major recipients of economic decadence and blatant robbers coated with false eccentric iafferent rubber staps by the brown envelope bishop who frequently visited the state capitol to justify your government’s incompetence.
As I said before, the process always leads to results.
We are still in the process… so you get drift.
It happened on June 25th, 2024.
The new generation has made epic entries into the battlefield of accountability and labor nations.
Many people lost their lives.
Rhetoric and more rebellion have come from your rank.
But this did not stop these fiery people.
They were fueled with the desire to put their nation into work.
Rather than migrating to other countries, to get opportunities in their country, Kenya.
Their online presence was consistent with their actual presence on the ground.
Let me tell you this teacher and come to a conclusion.
I respect you and really wish you well.
I am the product of a generation that respects leaders regardless of their failure.
But ensure that this process, designed by these young people, requires the ultimate outcome.
And the truth is, you can’t stop it.
Not even under the table cards being played by your new ally, Raila Odinga.
Some of these legacy politicians associated with Raila are trying to turn the country into Balkan, saying the movement is about Mount Kenya.
These lazy thinkers have been hallucinated ever since he continued to lay Laila on the false promise of becoming president.
Today their shows are top notch and we know where it is heading.
These are political orphans in the production, and if Raila is out of the picture, he cannot stand on his own.
They will lose if the movement for justice and accountability gets its own life without a man from Bond.
In short, you are president in these times.
I know you read the Bible every day.
That’s true for me too.
So imagine this:
You know, Esther of the Bible appeared reluctant to intervene on behalf of the threatened Israelites.
But her uncle Mordecai once faced her and told her this:
Ester 4:14 NIV
[14] If you are silent at this time, salvation and rescue for the Jews arise from another place, but you and your father’s family will die. And who knows, do you know that you came to your royal position like this? ”
https://bible.com/bible/111/est.4.14.niv
Today, President William Kiptiltil Samoei Arup Ruto.
I reflect Mordecai’s words.
If you are silent at this time, the Kenyans will receive relief from another place.
But who knows that you have come to that palace (state house) for such a time…
Your choice is your president.
Again, I will sign off with great hopes for you.
god bless you.
