MANILA, Philippines – Ala Garan remained even more hungry as Chery Tiggo made the most of his second chance on a play-in to build a three-man quarter-final duel at the defending champion cream line at the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference.
Garan poured 20 points from 16 spikes, three blocks and ace, as Cherry Tiggo beat 29-27, 15-25, 25-22, 25-21 and completed a play-in sweep as the 8th seed at the Philsport Arena on Tuesday, reaching the quarter-finals.
“I’m happy because we all really wanted to win, and that’s the key because no one’s giving up,” said Galan, a Philippines. “Everyone is happy to push through all the points, so we’re happy to have our team here. There’s still room for improvement.”

Galang The Crossovers makes the most of their quarter-final series with the cool Smashers, who have won the fifth straight All-Philippine title thanks to their updated firepower.
“We too [in a best-of-three series]. They are defending champions, but what’s important is how we start as a team. It shows you what you can work together as a team and what you can do. In the face of us, we are sure that it will work as long as we don’t give up on each other and don’t continue to help each other,” the former La Salle star said.
Chery Tiggo and Creamline will launch their Race Two-2 Winds Series on March 18th at the same venue in Pasig City.
Despite being relegated to a play-in round after losing to Choco Manco in the qualifying round, Garan thinks the crossover is ready to face a bigger challenge in the quarterfinals.

“The last two games were important because we tested the characters of our team. Secondly, it helped us hone our teamwork and individual skills. When we work well individually, that’s the team gathering,” she said.
In addition to Garan, Shelley Tiggo turns to Shaya Adrador. Shaya Adrador spent a big time at the play-in, having 18 points, 13 excavations and 11 excellent receptions, earning the quarter-final berth.
“[The play-in] It was really important that we experienced that intense game. I saw them both in Nxled and Farm that they really wanted to win too. Our team never retreated in those tough moments,” said Adrador of the Philippines. “I really pulled strength from each of my teammates I wanted to win, and from the coaches who were patient and focused on us during all of our training.”
“The Cream Line is not an easy opponent, especially since it’s made up of veteran players. We’ll work hard again in training and start with ourselves,” she added.
