Thanks to the recent update, Apple Music Subscribers can now transfer their playlists to their YouTube Music profile. This new feature was introduced very quietly as Apple did not announce it in the usual way. We found out about this tool on Company Support Documents.
Subscribers must meet certain requirements before being migrated. First, you must have an Apple Music or iTunes Match Subscription. The user has an active YouTube Music You’ll need an account, and luckily you don’t need a YouTube Music subscription, so at least moving your playlists around won’t be an expensive endeavor.

Assuming everything is in order, Apple Data and Privacy Pagelog in to your Apple ID account and select “Transfer a Copy of Your Data.” The next screen will give you the option to move your playlists from Apple Music to YouTube Music. There are some limitations to be aware of: According to Apple, you can only move playlists that you created yourself. Non-collaborative shared or curated playlists can’t be moved. Organization folders and music files also aren’t shared. If the song isn’t on YouTube Music, you can’t listen to it. Additionally, non-music audio files, like podcasts, won’t be transferred.
At the time of writing, it appears you can only move playlists from YouTube Music to Apple Music. Second Supporting Document They claim that it’s currently possible. First, you have to go to Google Takeout and follow the instructions there to prepare your YouTube Music playlists for transfer. I applaud Apple for being friendly to third-party services. This is a big win for users, who now have the freedom to move their favorite tracks to another platform without having to recreate everything from scratch. Speaking from experience, it’s a huge pain to recreate a playlist. It would be even better if Apple Music integrated with other platforms like Spotify.
