Have you ever looked back 10 years ago and really regretted something you said? Yeah, me too. However, this is not the case for Anne Hathaway today. She had to apologize for an interview a few years ago after the video went viral on social media. And it doesn’t paint her in the best light. That’s the nature of celebrities.
All our interactions are lost in the flow of time. But these people are not like that. They never know when something seemingly forgotten will come back to haunt them in a bad way.
Anne Hathaway sends email apology to Norwegian journalist Gjersti Flaer
According to Deadline, Anne Hathaway sent an email apologizing to Norwegian journalist Gjersti Flaer, whom she interviewed during a press tour 12 years ago. Les Misérables. During the interview, Anne Hathaway didn’t make a great impression, answering Flair’s questions in one-word, monosyllabic responses and giving the overall impression that she didn’t want to be there.
The reason she is issuing this apology all these years later is not because she called the interview “first-rate disgusting” in a video published on Gjersti Flair’s YouTube channel. She’s not wrong. You can see for yourself a video that explains everything that went wrong with her and Anne Hathaway’s general attitude.
oh yeah. The key issue here was that Gjersti Flair decided to have her interviewees sing a little in response to her questions. Need to be a little weird and take a risk? Sure, but after all, this was for a musical. Most people like Russell Crowe and Hugh Jackman were in attendance. Anne Hathaway wasn’t like that. Not at all.
Anne Hathaway even said, “Well, that’s not my intention, but you’re welcome to sing.” So things didn’t go well from the start, and then they never really recovered. Hathaway gave one-word answers to questions, but it was clear she didn’t want to be there anymore. It was a mess.
Fulla said she felt Anne Hathaway was disrespectful throughout (no kidding), but to defend the actress a little here, it’s that these press interviews, and perhaps the talent’s, are the ones she most wanted to do as part of the process. There is no such thing. That being said, the interviewer will probably need to understand this and follow the script. It’s close.

Anne Hathaway could have easily had her worst day and moved on. She wasn’t hurt at work or canceled because of an interview. And perhaps there’s a lesson here for other celebrities in that you never know when something like a bad interview will come back to haunt you years later.
