Over the past few days, Andi Dorfman has had reason to celebrate, but also reason to be very concerned.
First, the former Bachelorette star gave birth to her and husband Blaine Hart’s first child on December 20, announcing their daughter’s blessed birth via Instagram at the time.
“After 28 hours of labor, we are officially a trio.”
Dorfman was then hospitalized.
Less than a week after giving birth, Dorfman underwent surgery to remove a hematoma, a blood clot that forms on the outside of a blood vessel.
“Hey, I’m here again! This time it’s for my mom,” the reality star wrote on her Instagram Story on Dec. 27, delving further below.
“When I got home I was in severe pain and it was getting worse every day.
“Even though the internet said recovery would take time, I still felt something was wrong and after trying every home remedy I finally called my doctor and he told me to come in right away. I did.”
The 37-year-old continued:
“We found out that there was one large hematoma and one small hematoma that was causing the pain. Within a few hours we were at the hospital and prepared for surgery.
“Although it’s a very simple procedure, it’s still pretty scary to raise a 6-day-old baby (and there are still tons of hormones lurking).”
Yes, that’s true. We can’t even imagine it.
Dorfman, a new parent, admitted she feels “some guilt” for worrying. herself “But I realized that if I couldn’t do it, then she couldn’t either.”
And the ABC personality passed on a valuable lesson to others.
“No matter how ignorant you are about being a mother,” she added.
“You still know your body best! Listen up! Yes, recovery is hard and everyone is different, but your intuition is (and probably is) right.”
Dorfman and Hart previously introduced their daughter by name along with an adorable family photo on December 22nd.
“Introducing…Harper Bellhart. Our sweet little girl came into the world weighing a solid 7 pounds, 13 ounces and towering just like her daddy at 20.5 inches!” They posted on Instagram jointly posted on the gram.
“We love her more than we could have ever imagined. Just looking at her makes me cry on the spot, dad wrapped up in her cute pinky finger…
“Thank you for all the wonderful blessings you have sent us. And a huge debt of gratitude to our daughter for making us the mushy, proudest, happiest parents ever!” This is Truly the best gift we have ever received. ”
