According to The Hollywood ReporterPromotion Beetlejuice Beetlejuice Drinks served at AMC theatres with McGuffin’s Bar can cost up to $31, depending on state liquor tax laws.
The 24-ounce “Sandworm Slayer” cocktail is served on the rocks with a mix of blue and black raspberry juices. [an undisclosed] “Premium Vodka.” The drink is topped with six sour gummy worms (presumably Troli Sour Brite Crawlers) and served in a plastic cup if you plan to bring it into the theater. Here’s what the drink looks like when it’s delivered:

According to the report, the blue drink usually retails for a relatively modest $21, but that’s still somehow a scary price: The unfortunate customer pictured above happened to be in Illinois when he bought the Sandworm Slayer, which “jumped the price of the drink to $28.25 (plus tax).”
Many have pointed out that for the price, the cocktail’s presentation is subpar (though the taste is great, it’s pretty questionable) and that it makes little effort to evoke the Tim Burton film, either in theme or presentation. First, why? BlueLike Beetlejuice himself, sandworms are black-and-white striped annelids with red eye spots and greenish lips. There are several ways to describe this as a visually striking cocktail, almost worthy of the $20-30 price range.
First, a layered cocktail. Use black syrup and white liqueur to recreate the creature’s flesh and garnish with two maraschino cherries for eyes. Rimming a tall glass with green sugar will give the drink the basic look of a sandworm. If that’s too difficult, garnish the cocktail with a black and white striped straw. green One instead of blue, and you already Beetlejuice –It goes further than AMC’s confusing Sandworm Slayer , and even adds a bombshell shot to show the worm’s real head, not to mention what you can do with Lydia’s iconic red wedding dress and a drink that evokes the first film’s surreal “Day-O” musical number.
The disappointment evoked by AMC’s ludicrously expensive tie-in drinks is less a case of capitalism run amok and more a failure of creativity on the part of the cinema chain. I’ve been close to death recentlyin itself, one would think would be a deeper meditation on matters relating to graves, or at least matters relating to alcohol.
