Eala reached the Latvian French Open Champion Jelena Ostapenko, 7-6 (2), 7-5, Miami Open Round on Saturday (Manila time).

The 19-year-old Ira became the first Filipino netter to beat the top 30 players. Her stunning victory attracted the attention of tennis legend Rafael Nadal.

A graduate of Spain’s Rafael Nadal Academy, Ira continues her dream run with No. 5, governing the Australian Open Champion Madison Keys in the United States.
