Aerosmith’s amazing tour is coming to an abrupt end. The famous rock band Steven TylerIrreparable vocal damage.
The band’s official social media accounts shared the tragic news on Friday, nearly four months after the band announced new dates for their Peace Out Farewell Tour following the frontman’s vocal cord injury. However, after more than five decades together, the band was forced to make the decision to end the band due to the fact that Tyler, 76, has not fully recovered from vocal cord damage and is unable to continue.
“As you know, Steven’s voice is an unparalleled instrument. He has worked tirelessly for months to regain the voice he had before his injury,” the statement read in part. “Despite having the best medical team at his side, we have watched him struggle and it has sadly become clear that he will never fully recover from his vocal injuries. As a band of brothers, we have made the heartbreaking and difficult, but necessary, decision to retire from the touring stage.”
In a statement, the band expressed their gratitude to their fans who have been with them from the beginning, as well as to the “skilled staff” and “thousands of talented people who have made our historic success possible.” The band also said, “Finally, we’d like to thank you all, the best fans on the planet.”
Prior to the announcement, Aerosmith released their final album, Music from another dimension!Announced in 2012, the tour was scheduled to resume on September 20 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, before the band was forced to suspend the tour in September 2023, just one week into the tour, until “sometime in 2024” after Tyler injured his vocal cords, which the band said was “more serious than originally thought.”
“Doctors have determined that he has a fractured larynx, as well as damage to his vocal cords, which will require ongoing treatment,” Aerosmith said in a statement. A statement posted on the band’s Instagram page“He is receiving the best treatment to speed up his recovery but has been advised that patience is essential due to the nature of the fracture.”
Tyler, who injured his vocal cords while performing at UBS Arena in Elmont, New York, added that he was “heartbroken not to be on stage with Aerosmith, my brothers and the incredible Black Crowes and rock out with the best fans in the world.”
