Republicans pass a bill making abortion a constitutional right in Florida despite receiving 1 million more votes than Ron DeSantis, showing how democracy is weakened in Florida It showed that.

Adam Smith posted:

1 million more Florida voters voted in favor of the abortion plan in 2022 than voted to re-elect Governor DeSantis. https://t.co/TA4CdFiRfR

The amendment failed because Florida’s unruly Legislature set a 60% threshold for passage. The bill passed overwhelmingly with 57% support, but it means nothing because Mr. DeSantis has tied his legacy and political future to banning abortion.

What happened in Florida was an example of what happens when Republicans water down democracy and send the message that the will of the people doesn’t matter.

DeSantis used Florida as an example of what Republican rule over the entire country looks like, and when that rule tramples on individual rights and the will of the people appears to prevail, government is unjust against fundamental rights. I would like to use this as an example to show how people will act. .
