A revision of the genus Scorpio in Jordan, with the description of one new genus and three new species (Scorpiones: Scorpionidae)
Abstract
Some new Scorpio Populations from various habitats in Jordan are being studied, including previously identified specimens. Scorpio Kruglovi Birla, 1910 and S. fuscus (Ehrenberg, 1829). A new genus of the family Scorpionidae, Jordanius Gen. yeah. is mainly described separately from the genus Scorpio Linnaeus, 1758 by the heavy pattern of elongation and granulation of the hand and granulated fingers. Scorpiogranulomanus Al-Saraireh et al., 2023 was transferred to a new genus, Jordanius Meisaraensis Gen. and others Speech. yeah. is written. Also, Scorpio Jordanensis Speech. yeah. and S. Wabehi Speech. yeah. is described. S. palmatus (Ehrenberg, 1828) S. fuscus (Ehrenberg, 1829) is given as a neotype. S. palmatus Excavated from Alexandria, Egypt S. fuscus Comments are given on the classification of the Lebanese scorpions and on the questionable or inaccurate records from Jordan. S. propinquus It has been proposed as a nomen dubium.
