I also mentioned my habit stacking podcast and posted that nightstands are the first thing you’ll see in the morning, so it’s also a great place to visually remind you of healthy habits.
Let me walk you through everything on my nightstand and explain why it’s there.
1. Quart-sized mason jar with salt
First thing: Hydration. My nightstand has a quart-sized mason jar filled with water and a teaspoon of high-quality mineral salt dissolved inside. why? Because rehydration first thing in the morning is impossible for me to negotiate. Overnight we lose water from breathing and sweat, leaving our bodies dehydrated. Adding a pinch of salt to the water gives you the essential electrolytes, which helps:
- Replenish your hydration level
- Supports adrenal function
- Blood pressure balance
- Kickstart Extraction
Sometimes I mix it by dissolving salt directly in my mouth before drinking regular water. Either way, this little morning ritual has a big impact on my energy level and overall happiness. Recently I’ve been using these microplastic-free salts. Check out these posts and this podcast. See why I love salt!

- Masszymes: Digestive enzyme supplements that help break down proteins and improve intestinal health. This is especially useful if you enjoyed a large amount of meal the night before. I take this morning and evening on an empty stomach, but sometimes I take it with my meal to improve my digestion. I mix it and often do both because it behaves differently when taken with or without food.
- It just makes probiotics flourish: A healthy gut is the foundation of health, and probiotics help to maintain that balance by supporting digestion and immunity. Also, take this at various times of the year with or without food.
