Brand new, no soldering required for $26 This product from 8BitDo turns your old GameCube controller into a wireless Bluetooth device that works with the Nintendo Switch and Android. It also works with the original GameCube, but you’ll need to buy a $26 product to do so. The mod kit comes with a Hall effect joystick, a trigger pack, and a rechargeable 300mAh battery, which 8BitDo claims will provide around six hours of playtime. Pre-orders for the kit are open now, with shipments due on September 25th.

There are a number of adapters on the market that allow you to use original wired GameCube controllers with the Switch, including 8BitDo’s own adapter. While there are adapters and official Nintendo adapters available, this mod kit cuts out the middleman for a completely wireless Bluetooth connection – just open up your controller and replace the old PCB with a new one.
