60 Minutes issued a statement denouncing Trump’s claims that the Kamala Harris interview was falsely edited and reminding voters that Trump retracted the same interview.
Here is a statement from 60 Minutes:
Former President Donald Trump has accused “60 Minutes” of deceptively editing his Oct. 7 interview with Vice President Kamala Harris.. That’s incorrect.
60 Minutes published excerpts from interviews with Face the Nation and used a longer answer section than 60 Minutes. Same question. Same answer. But different parts of the response. When editing interviews with politicians, athletes, movie stars, etc., we strive to be clear, accurate, and to the point. The 60-minute portion of her answer was more concise, allowing time for other subjects within the broader 21-minute segment.
Remember, Mr. Trump. declined an interview with 60 Minutes, and the vice president also participated.
Our long-standing invitation to former President Trump is still open. If he would like to discuss issues facing the country or interview Harris, he would be happy to appear on 60 Minutes.
Trump continues to lie social media posts, Interviews and campaign events about 60 Minutes Interviews. President Trump and his allies say the show edited Harris’ answers in the interview to make her seem smarter as a way to defend her after she withdrew from a 60 Minutes interview at the last minute. Made up a claim.
Donald Trump’s interview refusal backfired So he did what was best for him. he lied. But “60 Minutes” doesn’t put up with lies, and the more President Trump takes issue with the interview, the more it reminds voters that he’s not giving the interview.
Picking a fight on 60 minutes is not a winning strategy for Trump.
