The Ohio State Buckeyes landed another big piece for their future offensive line. That’s because Akron (Ohio) Hoban’s four-star offensive lineman Sam Greer has announced his commitment to the program.
After the Buckeyes landed Maxwell Riley, it seemed a lot of attention shifted towards the team’s acquisition of Greer. The Buckeyes quickly brought him back to campus so he could face-to-face with new offensive line coach Tyler Bowen. The relationship started out great and as a result, it became a quick commitment.
Landing Greer is a lovely feather in Bowen’s hat and is beginning to make marks to shape the offensive lineroom for the future Buckeyes. Greer has serious interest in Missouri, Florida, Florida and Michigan. He just went to Michigan to see what they had to offer.
With both Ohio natives on the boat, the Buckeyes can make every effort to land five-star Jackson Cantwell or Felix Ojo. The team also has four-star Mika Smith and Darius Gray mixed among even more targets.
Greer (6-7, 315) is moving forward with the project as a more prototype tackle outlook. He plays left tackle for his high school team, but I could easily see him as a very good run block right tackle. Greer fires the ball well and has long arms to keep the enemy at bay.
He is also a good athlete from Ohio. He’s pretty good on the basketball court, and even his size is explosive enough to dunk the ball easily.
