238 people who worked for John McCain, George W. Bush and Mitt Romney have endorsed Kamala Harris.
Four years ago, former colleagues of President George W. Bush, the late Senator John McCain and then-Governor Mitt Romney gathered to urge Republicans that President Trump’s reelection was unthinkable. It would be a catastrophe for our country. In these declarations, we stated obvious truths, each predicting that four more years of President Trump would inflict irreparable damage on our beloved democracy.
These announcements came months before lies about election fraud became commonplace and six months before Trump incited an insurrection and encouraged a competitive mob and its followers to use force to subvert the will of the American people.
We reunite today with former President George H. W. Bush alumni to reinforce our 2020 statement and jointly declare that for the first time, we will be voting for Vice President Kamala Harris. Governor Tim Walz November of this year.
Of course, I have many, frankly ideological differences with Vice President Harris and Governor Walz, and that’s to be expected, but the alternative is simply unacceptable.
Domestically, we are in for another four years of Donald Trump’s chaotic leadership, this time focused on advancing the dangerous goals of Project 2025, which will hurt real ordinary citizens and undermine our sacred institutions.
Overseas, democratic movements will be irreparably endangered as President Trump and his ally, J.D. Vance, turn their backs on our allies while bowing down to dictators like Vladimir Putin.
That cannot be tolerated.
Thanks to exit polls and voter data, we now know that it was moderate Republicans and conservative independents in key battleground states who ultimately won Joe Biden the presidency. Honest, hardworking Americans in Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Arizona and other states who put country over party. We urge these friends, colleagues, neighbors and family members to once again take a courageous stance and vote for leaders who will seek agreement not chaos, unity not division, and bring pride to our country and our children.
Those leaders are Vice President Kamala Harris and Governor Tim Walz.
The stakes in this election are bigger than partisan politics. Democratic Republicans and Conservatives People who love their country are standing up, because the threat posed by President Trump outweighs any policy differences.
Trump is trying to promote the false idea that he is the leader of a populist movement, when in fact he is heading a pro-democracy death cult.
The majority are people who oppose Donald Trump and what he stands for, and if this majority remains united, Donald Trump and MAGA will not only lose the election, but will be banished from American politics.
