2027 4-star RB and Pennsylvania Commit Kemon Spells Stop Adoption
4-star running back and class of 2027 Pennsylvania Commit Kemon Spell has closed his recruitment. He believes PSU is the best program for his future and will not consider other schools moving forward.
The McKeesport Area High School spell checks in at Rivals250’s No. 74 and is the top 75 prospect nationwide. He is also ranked as the No. 1 recruit in Pennsylvania, returning to fifth in the 2027 cycle.
Spell sat with head coach while returning to Happy Valley for a visit with Pennsylvania on Saturday. James FranklinAttack Coordinator Andy Koternikkirunning back coach Stan Draytonassistant running back coach Charles Walker Other Pennsylvania staff. After these conversations, the spell concludes that he is trapped with the Nittany Lions.
“My talk with Coach Franklin was fantastic,” Spell told Rivals.com. “He sat down with me and my parents and talked about the love he has for me and my family, and how I was treated like his (his) child.”
Perhaps the biggest threat to the Nittany Lions in the adoption of spells is Notre Dame. Fighting Ireland recently provided a spell on “Pot of Gold Day” on March 17th, but its relationship with the recently employed Notre Dame Associate Head Coach/Running Back Coach Ja’juan Seider Please pursue it and pay attention.
Sader was the Nittany Lions assistant head coach/co-offensive coordinator/running back coach when he committed to Pennsylvania in August 2024.
But the spell is committed to Pennsylvania and plans to keep that pledge forever until the time comes for prospects to sign schools in 2027.
In addition to his strong connection with Franklin, one of the major reasons why he has decided to close recruitment early in the process is due to his growing relationship with Drayton.
“My relationship with Director Drayton has become stronger and stronger the more we talk about it, the more things are,” Spell said. “I saw something special in my eyes (Coach Drayton) and I want him to coach me.”
The incantly tight bond with Walker is also a major reason why Spell is hoping to become a Nittany Lion in the near future.
“Coach Charles Walker, I love him,” Spell said. “He shows so much love for me and my family. This is truly the best group (coach) in the country.”
During his visit, Spell spent quality time with many coaches and recalled why he chose the Nittany Lions in the first place. Pennsylvania is in his home.
“On my visit today, (I) felt it was like home,” Spell explained. “It’s where I was about to be there and I was born to play. Coach, they all love me. I could sit and have some conversations with the offensive coordinator (Andy Koterinicki).). I love his energy, he loves me and wants to know more about me. ”
It’s not the only Pennsylvania state that on Saturday he’s closing recruitment. 2026 four-star running back Messiah Mikens announced that he is trapped by the Nittany Lions and will no longer enjoy other programs.
Also on a great Saturday for the Nittany Lions in Pennsylvania 250 prospects Khalil Taylor landed commitments from four-star linebacker and rivals in the state.
PSU currently has three total commits in the 2027 class with spells, Taylor and four-star offensive tackle Rayton fonbrandt.
