The 2024 FedEx Cup standings will be decided at the end of the regular season, which will determine all players who qualify for the FedEx Cup Playoffs. Scottie Scheffler is firmly in the No. 1 spot, as is Tiger Woods. This season, 35 PGA Tour events will be held during the regular season, which will contribute to players’ points. The three-event FedEx Playoffs will conclude with the Tour Championship schedule from August 29 to September 1, 2024. See below for more details, including the standings.
How will players earn points in the 2024 FedEx Cup standings?
A common question is how players can earn FedEx Cup points. It has changed a bit over the last few years, so I would like to explain it here. The 2024 PGA Tour schedule will have 35 regular season events before the playoff series. The playoffs will begin with the FedEx St. Jude Championship and end with the Tour Championship starting on August 29, 2024.
A typical regular-season event earns 500 FedEx Cup points for winning, plus points for qualifying. There are eight signature events during the season that increase the prize money even further, awarding 700 points to the winner. A player who wins a major championship or THE PLAYERS Championship also receives 750 points. The winner of an event played in the same week as a major or signature event receives 300 points.
How many players will qualify for the FedExCup Playoffs?
All players in the top 70 at the end of the season will qualify for the playoffs. Then, the top 50 after the FedEx St. Jude Championship will qualify for a PGA Tour signature event in 2025. Even better, the top 30 after the BMW Championship in 2024 will qualify for the Tour Championship. The first prize is $25 million from a $100 million bonus pool, which means Scottie Scheffler could be making a ton of money this season.
