There are two NHL outdoor games scheduled for this season in 2024-25. Those are the Winter Classic game and the Stadium Series game. The first game is the NHL Winter Classic between the St. Louis Blues and Chicago Blackhawks at Wrigley Field. History of NHL Outdoor Games
The NHL held its first regular-season outdoor hockey game in 2003. Since 2008, the league has held at least one outdoor game per season. Three different outdoor brands or competitions are used: Winter Classic, Heritage Classic, and Stadium Series. The 2024-25 NHL regular season features Winter Classic and Stadium Series games.

There are two NHL outdoor games this season in 2024-25. December 31, 2024 is the NHL Winter Classic. March 1, 2025 is the NHL Stadium Series game. The 2025 Stadium Series will be the first time Columbus will host an NHL regular season outdoor game.
