Brian Tyree Henry (Atlanta, If Beale Street speaks) and Wagner Moura (civil war) In Philadelphia, play old friends with a small amount of scam. Voice as drug enforcement agents, they pretend to raid drug homes while they are searching for cash to really steal. By the end of episode 1, they have targeted the wrong Meth Lab and are fleeing both the real government agents and the dealer whose business literally exploded. Henry and Moura bring extraordinary sympathy to the characters as the show combines the tensions of their life or death risk with the stories of people they care about and try to protect. Henry’s personality is particularly influenced by his love for his stepmother (Kate Mulgleu), who raised him. With Peter Craig, Batman co-writer Top Gun: MaverickI created a series. The series has a rough texture that reminds you of wires.

studio
Hollywood Studios is a fascinating target for satire, from Robert Altman’s 1992 Gem the Player to Armando Ian Lodz’s recent series, “The Franchise.” The series’ co-creators Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg make them the subject of a very entertaining turmoil, full of cameos from real-life actors and directors. Logan plays Mattremic, a production executive who craves green light art films. That’s an unlikely goal after he’s promoted to head of Continental Studios. One of the projects his corporate boss claims: a film based on Kool-Aid. If a product-inspired movie worked at Barbie, why not a soft drink? The first episode includes cameos by Martin Scorsese and Steve Buscemi. Many others, including Paul Dano, Olivia Wilde, Charlize Theron, and Anthony Mackey, perform oversized versions of themselves. And the casting of the regular characters is inspired. Ike Barniholtz plays Kathryn Hahn, the mentor and studio promoter of Matt’s deputy prime minister and best friend Catherine O’Hara, who filmed Matt.
The studio will premiere internationally on Apple TV+ on March 26th
