Just when you think you can safely run Windows 11 24H2, another glitch occurs. Thankfully, this is not surprising. And until Microsoft creates a fix, you can easily work around this issue.

This seems like a small issue, but the ability to change the time zone is useful. New PCs usually have their time zone set to Pacific Time, so if you’re not on the West Coast, you’ll need to change your time zone. Also, if you’re traveling with a laptop, you’ll need to be able to switch between time zones at your final destination.
Assuming the account is not set up as an administrator, how do I proceed until this issue is resolved?
Microsoft explained on its webpage that the bug is limited to the Date and Time screen in Windows Settings and is not caused by changes to permissions, user policies, or Windows settings. This means you can change your time zone using an old but reliable method.

This is a minor bug in the grand scheme of Windows 11 24H2 bugs. However, other bugs affecting this new version are more serious and frustrating, and Microsoft has paused updates to certain PCs.
The company rolled out a series of fixes on Patch Tuesday this month, resolving most (but not all) outstanding issues. The Windows 11 2024 update appears to be safe enough to install now. Please note that this version may not be completely bugfixed.
