Summer is a quiet time for tech news, but Samsung is looking to shake things up a bit. The next Samsung Unpacked event will take place tomorrow, July 10th, in Paris at 3pm local time (9am ET). If you want to watch it live, you can find all the details on how to watch Samsung Unpacked here.

The company released its Galaxy S24 devices earlier this year after the first Unpacked of 2024, so it’s highly unlikely we’ll see a new version of the traditional smartphone format here (except maybe an Olympic-branded model, given Samsung’s sponsorship of the Olympics). But it’s entirely possible that Samsung will show off its latest foldable device. Rumors have it that it’s also getting ready to unveil a new smartwatch. And then there’s the little matter of a smart ring, which Samsung has been hinting at since earlier this year.

What to expect from Samsung Unpacked in July 2024

samsung galaxy ring

Samsung’s smart ring is the most intriguing of the company’s upcoming devices, and while it’s an entirely new product category for the company, the company has been preparing for it for the past few years by improving the health and wellness tech in its other devices.

The Samsung Galaxy Ring is scheduled to be released “around August” according to the company, so if this device I didn’t Debuting at Unpacked: After first showing off the wearable at Unpacked in January, Samsung revealed more details in February. The Galaxy Ring will be available in three colors — platinum silver, gold, and ceramic black — and in multiple sizes.

The ring will measure your heart rate, movement, breathing, and help you track your sleep. It will also support pregnancy tracking. The Galaxy Ring can also be paired with the Galaxy Watch, so wearing both will give you more accurate health data.

Samsung

Naturally, the Galaxy Ring will be compatible with Galaxy smartphones, but Samsung is aiming to make it work with other Android devices as well. As of February, iOS compatibility was still pending, so rival device Oura will likely be the go-to for many iPhone users. Compatible Available for certain iPhones and non-Samsung Android phones.

Samsung has yet to reveal the exact release date and price of the Galaxy Ring, but that information will almost certainly be revealed at Unpacked.

Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6

As we move into the second half of the year and into the holiday shopping season (don’t say that out loud, as summer has only just begun in the Northern Hemisphere), now would be the perfect time for Samsung to unveil a new foldable smartphone, and there’s a good chance we’ll see the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 unveiled at Unpacked.

The update is expected to be relatively small. Rumor has it The Z Flip 6 will get a slight increase in battery capacity to 4,000mAh, the option to bump up the RAM to 12GB, and the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. We can also expect a camera upgrade, with Samsung said to be giving the Z Flip 6 the same 50MP camera as the Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S24.

As for the flagship folding model, Galaxy Z Fold 6The iPhone 8 is expected to have the same screen size and thickness as last year’s model, and the cover screen may feature Corning Gorilla Armor for improved durability along with anti-reflective technology.

It looks like the camera won’t get an upgrade, and the battery capacity might just increase slightly, but we can be sure the chipset will be upgraded to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.

Meanwhile, one leak claims that both devices will be $100 more expensive than last year’s models, but we’ll have to wait until Unpacked to find out if that’s true.

More premium Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultraas well Slim version Both foldable formats, but these are likely to arrive alongside the Galaxy S25 lineup in early 2025. If they do show up at the Unpacked event in July, it’s likely to be little more than a teaser at best.

Galaxy Watch and Galaxy Watch Ultra

Galaxy Watch 7 The wearable will likely make an appearance at Unpacked, as some online stores have early listings for it. It is expected to feature a 3nm chipset that will improve power efficiency and performance, and is likely to have upgraded health sensors as well.

It’s 2024, so naturally there will be some AI-powered features, too: A detailed list of AI-powered sleep, exercise, and communication features includes a smart reply feature for the latter.

But that’s not all. There are indications that the Galaxy Watch Ultra will also be released. image It has been suggested that it will be thicker than the standard Galaxy Watch model. The device is expected to have a rectangular design with a rounded face. Most interestingly, the Galaxy Watch Ultra may feature a digital crown-style dial and button combination on the side instead of a rotating bezel for navigation.

Rumors are calling it a $700 price tag, making it significantly more expensive than other Galaxy Watch devices, so hopefully Samsung will pack it with enough features to make it worth it.

Galaxy Buds 3 and Galaxy Buds 3 Pro

It’s been a few years since the last Galaxy Buds were released (except for last year’s FE model), so it’s time for an upgrade, and both the Galaxy Buds 3 and Buds 3 Pro are likely to be announced at Unpacked on July 10.

Both models will be available in silver and white, will be IP57 dust and water resistant, and will support SmartThings Find. Android Headlines.

Like the Buds 2 Pro, the Buds 3 Pro are expected to feature two-way speakers designed to deliver richer audio, while the regular Buds 3 will have a one-way speaker. The higher-end model is also said to feature adaptive noise control, blade lights and ambient sound. The Buds 3 Pro are also expected to offer longer battery life than the lower-priced model, while both are thought to feature active noise cancellation.

Another big change is expected, with rumors suggesting Samsung plans to copy Apple’s AirPods. Adoption of stem designWhether you like this format or not, the stem does have one clear advantage: it moves the microphone a little closer to your mouth, improving call quality. For reference, when Samsung announced the Galaxy Buds Live in 2020, the company said: The “unsightly stem” was missing.

Galaxy Reserve pre-order benefits

As in recent years, Samsung is already allowing people to pre-order one of its next-generation Galaxy devices online. Samsung” This will qualify you for a $50 “instant Samsung credit” and “up to $1,500 off when you pre-order.” Of course, this doesn’t say much about what to expect officially from the company, but at the very least, something You’ll make a reservation, right?
