“Watching the Williams sisters win titles here, watching Roger (Federer) win hundreds of times here, I wanted to play on this court. This court is so iconic and obviously it’s named after Arthur Ashe,” he said.

Tiafoe added: “I’m literally just taking each day as it comes. It’s a Grand Slam, it’s two weeks, there’s a lot going on.”
“You can’t get ahead of yourself and think about what’s going to happen or how things are. Everyone is so good that it doesn’t really matter who’s going to be there or who’s not.”
Bulgaria’s Dimitrov beat off an upset attempt by sixth-seeded Andrey Rublev to reach the U.S. Open quarterfinals for the first time since 2019.
