The FBI warns that scammers are using fake ransom notes sent to US business executives to impersonate Bian ransomware gangs.
Fake Missom Notes, First It has been reported Guidepoint Security, a US cybersecurity company, claims that hackers have accessed the organization’s network to steal sensitive data, threatening to release stolen data unless ransom demand is paid.
Scammers are demanded between $250,000 and $500,000 According to the FBIthis letter says that it contains a QR code linked to your Bitcoin wallet. The memo claims it comes with a return address to an office building in Boston, Massachusetts, and is from a Bian ransomware gang.
The Russian-related Bianlian gang was the subject of CISA Alerts Last November, the group warned that since June 2022 it had targeted multiple US critical infrastructure sectors.
